Welcome!

I am a professional wooden boat builder with over eighteen years of experience, dealing with both power and sail boats. I have also become skilled in many other areas of wood working, and you may view some of my work on this site.

In many of the boats and other objects that I have made, I  have dealt with both exotic foreign species as well as domestic species of wood. If you are interested in custom boats, furniture, marquetry, jewelry boxes, or any wood working project please contact me, I would be happy to help you. All of my items are built with meticulous care and attention to detail. Traditional joinery such as dovetails and mortise and tenon are used throughout, as well as modern methods including solid wood laminations.

Handcrafted Boats

I have very extensive experience in the field of wooden boat building and any handcrafted boat building project is well within my abilities.  This includes the production of small row boats as well as high speed power boats and large sail boats. One of my showcase boats that I have built is a 28 ft twin engine power boat called 'The Langfuhr'. This handcrafted boat was built for the owner of a famous, winning racing horse 'Langfuhr'. I also am well experienced in spar making for any wooden mast type, whether, rectangular, oval, round, and foil section. Interior renovations on any type of hull - wood, fiberglass or metal, including major and minor repairs for fiberglass boats, and gelcoat repairs. Curved and Spiral Wooden Staircases

Quality curved and spiral stairs and railings can be designed and built to your specifications and needs, using the wood and materials of your choice.

Custom tangent hand rail and inclined turns as well as elliptical stair designs are also possible. Straight stairs are available as well as loft ladders and boat ladders.

Furniture and Marquetry

Have you ever spotted a piece of furniture in a magazine or an art show that you fell in love with? Have you found a classic table years ago at an antique show, but - at the time - couldn't afford it but you are kicking yourself for not getting it?

Building furniture of varying style and wood types is a unique part of my business, and I can recreate nearly any piece of furniture using classic and difficult to find woods. Or maybe you just need a fine piece of furniture to fit in a unique area of room.

Marquetry can be incorporated into furniture, jewelry boxes or chests or even as wall hanging art.

Send me sketches or photos and I can custom design to suit your needs. If you are looking for a particular wood species I can most likely acquire it for you, as I have access to literally hundreds of wood species.

Fine Boxes

There is something intriguing about a box. Historically, boxes are used to conceal some of the most private and interesting things, and many classic boxes contained secret compartments and hidden drawers.

Some boxes called humidors help in the storage and aging of cigars. Boxes can be made in all shapes and sizes and can really show off the handcrafted nature of fine boxes when revealing spines or unique joinery.
